Greenwood Supply Company LLC understands the potential harmful environmental impact of selling consumable products and shipping them to our customers all over the country and world; therefore, we do everything within our means to use recycled, recyclable, and biodegradable shipping materials.
We encourage our customers to recycle or dispose of their packaging responsibly after use. Bottles and jars made of glass or plastic are usually recyclable, as well as paper and cardboard products. Plastic films like bubble wrap and bags may need to be taken to grocery stores for special bulk recycling.
Please refer to your municipal recycling program for specific guidelines regarding the proper disposal of product packaging and containers.
Below are the eco-friendly packaging materials we use to ship our products:
- USPS Boxes and Envelopes
Most USPS Boxes are made from 100% recycled fiber. Priority Mail® and Express Mail® boxes and envelopes are Cradle-to-CradleCM certified, so they can go right in the recycling bin. USPS Padded Poly Mailers are generally recycleable.
- Corrugated Cardboard boxes
We try to reuse boxes that come in from vendors if they are in good condition in an effort to cut back on the use of new boxes. Both used and new boxes are recyclable.
- Reverse Tuck Cartons
Made from 100% Recycled Content
- Bubble Wrap
Blue bubble wrap is made from d2W "oxo-biodegradble" plastic and is claimed by the manufacturer to be non-toxic, will not harm plants, people, or animals (unless choked on of course) and is supposed decompose faster than regular bubble wrap which takes decades to begin to break down. California does not allow plastics to be advertised as biodegradable, and as a company that markets in California, we cannot make any claims about this product's ability to biodegrade.
Green bubble wrap is made from to 40% recycled content with up to 20% from post-consumer sources.
- Brown Kraft Paper
Made from 100% recycled content. Recyclable and biodegradable.
Made from 20% recycled content. Recyclable and biodegradable.
- Padded Mailers
77% recycled fibers with 62% post-consumer content; Recyclable.
- Packing Peanuts
We use starch peanuts which are biodegradable and non-toxic.
Kraft paper tape is biodegradable. Clear tape is made from polypropylene with natural rubber adhesive.
- Copy Paper
We use 100% recycled copy paper for our printing needs.
The plastic zipper locking bags with a green line at the top are claimed to be biodegradable by the manufacturer. California does not allow plastics to be advertised as biodegradable, and as a company that markets in California, we cannot make any claims about this product's ability to biodegrade. We also use cellophane bags for various applications which are recyclable and biodegradable.
- Corrugated Cardboard Wrap
100% recycled. Recyclable and biodegradable.
- Green Air Pillows
Our Eco-Friendly Air Pillows contain an additive which is supposed to accelerate degradation. They also usually can be recycled in accordance with your recycling municipality. California does not allow plastics to be advertised as biodegradable, and as a company that markets in California, we cannot make any claims about this product's ability to biodegrade.
- Shipping Tubes
Shipping tubes are made from 100% recycled content. Caps are made from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and are commonly recyclable.
- Chipboard Pads
Made from 100% recycled content
